David Gilmour, Born 6 March 1946, is an English musician, songwriter, and guitarist best known as the lead guitarist and co-lead vocalist of the iconic rock band Pink Floyd. Recognized for his expressive guitar solos, Gilmour has been a driving force in some of the most influential albums in rock history, including The Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here.
